Pissed Consumer Interviews ?

Look elsewhere. We booked a home for a September wedding in January, 2018. The owner took full payment (over $1000). In late March we received an email stating the rental was cancelled and our money would be refunded. No reason, no personal contact, no apology. We contacted HomeAway and were told we had no recourse, that there was no requirement that owners follow through, and that "things happen to change an owner's situation". Yes, like a better rental deal, I would suspect. I have property I rent through an agency and I have never seen a rental process that is so one-sided toward the owner. BEWARE WHEN USING HOMEAWAY -

HomeAway double booked my reservation

I made a last minute reservation. Homeaway double booked the reservation. Because the reservation was past the cancellation date the hotel is keeping the full amount and Homeaway is refusing to accept responsibility for their error. In addition to not accepting responsibility it required 5 or calls calls from me to even get them to act on my request to have their error corrected. I have worked many years in customer service. There was not a single person I spoke with that should be allowed anywhere near a customer. It just shows how much this company cares about it's customers.

HomeAway - Lost $13,000 of bookin

A renter made a reservation from Jan. 5 to April 5, 2019 for $13,000. Homeaway blocked my calendar for those dates. The first payment was due Sept. The renter did not pay. I was not alerted by Homeaway. The second payment was due in December and I got the alert that payment was overdue. I called Homeaway and asked them why I was not alerted on the first overdue payment. I could have cancelled the reservation and not lose $13000 bec. it is already December. They said I should have checked my calendar. I told them their system is bad. I have other businesses to manage. I cannot be looking at my calendar everyday. They copied AIRBNB system but AIRBNB always communicates with the owner and alerts the owner all the time. Never use this website again for your bookings.

HomeAway - Really bad Customer Service and bad Property Managers

I made a reservation for the 2018 end of year in Miami on 11/18/2018. They charged my credit card ten seconds after I click on their website. Ten days later they sent me an email just saying, your reservation has been cancelled. As of today, I still have not received the refund.
